My Nursing Philosophy

My nursing philosophy is that learning is a lifelong process that evolves with education and experiences. As an aspiring nursing student time and effort, I am investing in Seneca College is beneficial. Because it is transitioning me to grow from a nursing student to a fully independent, competent, and confident nurse. It is my sincere desire to portray the ideal characteristics of nursing which are altruism, trust, and dedication (Chen et al., 2022). I am looking forward to practicing open-ended patient care, which is evidence-based with advanced clinical skills.

Furthermore, patient-centered care is the most important aspect of nursing which involves mental, physical, and emotional well-being (Kwame, A., Petrucka, P.M., 2021). The desires, beliefs, and viewpoints of the patients must be respected to serve them holistically. The patients should have a right to exercise their autonomy. As a nurse, I want to advocate for the clients, helping them to make their independent choices while explaining to them the outcome of their decisions.

I believe that establishing a nurse-client therapeutic relationship is also based on the involvement of family members in patient care. However, healthy collaboration among the healthcare team personnel and good communication skills on behalf of a nurse can play a major role in it (Kwame, A., Petrucka, P.M., 2021).

In the end, I have set goals for myself to be a part of a progressive team and strengthen my work organization. In addition, I will act proactive and ensure that I work as a leader and recommend healthy changes in my working facility. I will make sure to focus on my path of becoming a good nurse and keep myself motivated to do so.
